Posted by Alix I have been MIA from here for quite a while, but I need some help. I have slowly been helping one AQHA and APHA ranch sell off some broodmares as they are about totally out of the horse raising business. They have GREAT quality horses, but don't feed enough to spit in your eye with... But that is another story, sort of. I have sold six mares for them for between $400 and $650 for unbroke six year olds. I find buyers and warn them the girls will be horribly under weight, then the sellers deliver me mares and registration papers for sellign price and gas to deliver them from five hours away. The seller of the mares has a friend who is in his 80s and had a stroke two years ago. His wife has made the decision that he is not goign to recover and is startign to sell off there breedign herd of AQHAs. Most of the mares I have sold were originally bought from this place. Now these were NICE mares and six months after being saves were out on trail rides and two were showing in 4H, so the quality of the stock is good. This ranch also feeds thier horses better so they won't look like somethign that the cat drug in when they coem off the trailer. So this leaves me with a handful of copies of registration of AQHA horses, halterbroke only, that they want me to sell for them. There will eventually be over 20 horses, right now I have five one with a foal on her side. I am supposed to be gettign pictures, but I am not goign to hold my breath on that. The seller wants better then meat prices, but I don't know what meat prices are!!! So I am asking for help in a three fold. 1) what woudl the goign rate for a 15 hand QH be for meat? I ahve a full spread of ages from 20 to 2 right now. (personally I like $400 a head to hand picked homes like I have beed doing!!!) 2) Would anyone know of a rescue in Eastern WA near Omak who might help me with this??? I am in Western WA and it is HARD to place unbroken horses sight unseen in homes, how am I goign to do it with 20???? 3) anybody need a QH???? Please don't think I am playing horse trader. I have made $0 off of the previous sales and will make the same for these... I am just trying to get the horses in better situations. Alix the healing
