Posted by marm In an effort to win support and understanding for a Resolution to be brought before the Arabian Horse Association Convention this fall, I would appreciate your help in providing supporting data regarding your policies regarding the handling of registrations for any horses coming into and placed by your organization. Presently, an amateur may only show, as Amateur Owner, a horse recorded in his'/her name or and/or that of immediate family. This resolution would permit an adopter of a registered horse to compete with that animal as its Amateur Owner, providing the adopter holds a valid amateur card for competition, in the event that the rescue organization either retains recorded ownership with the breed organization, or enters into a joint *AND* recorded ownership. This provision would be for AHA competition purposes only, and would not extend to any other ownership rights, thereby preserving any restricted breeding or unauthorized transfer covenants. Please feel welcome to comment on any of the below questions! Send responses to me at caroldarnell@hotmail.com. And thank you all in advance! ============================================================================================ 1: Is your organization a formal 501(c)(3)? y/n 2: Does your organization have a formal adoption agreement? If so, does it include provisions regarding: 3: Does your organization have a formal policy regarding registration papers that accompany horses you take in? If so, do you: 4: When you adopt/place the horse, do you 5: Other comments, observations, etc please!
