Howdy Yall! We've been pretty busy getting ready for the Used
Tack/Fundraiser. June 4th is this coming Saturday and we could
really use your help. This event is TIER's major fundraiser for the
year. It comes at just the right time as we are low on hay & pellets
and we do need to have the horse manacurist out!!
surgeries, we had not planned on the cost of hay being so high this
year!! The alfalfa we buy for our 'dentally challenged' seniors is
now at the price we WERE paying for Orchard & Timothy last year!!
Needless to say, Orchard and Timothy prices have also gone through
the roof. As a result, the funds we had earmarked for feed are
really low and SueAnn's second visit to the vet for skin
grafting/hair transplant remains to be paid. SueAnn's update is
below.
needing a beauty treatment after her hospital stay. Ruby insists
that she is more deserving of a beauty treatment than someone with
spots & Panache thinks they are both just vain. Buck is pretty
adamant that a beauty treatment would do him a world of good and
Dottie said that she believes Buck is stretching the truth cuz he's a
ornery cuss sometimes! Jake offered to be the referee for the
whining match about horsie makeovers, but Moses told him to stay out
of it cuz he would end up w/teeth marks from the girls if they didn't
win. (I guess Moses has some experience in that area???) Precious
Gem listened to the yammering in a dignified manner, snorted, and
turned her back on the whole group as she tossed a look of disdain
over her shoulder. Pepper popped off with something about 'there
aren't enough hours in the day or hands on a human to make a beauty
out of anyone in the group', then he retreated to the far end of his
pen with something like a snicker on his face. Slim woke up in the
middle of the mutterings and quickly went back to sleep to be on the
safe side. Skyline Jet put her 2 cents in saying that 'THE' new
mother should be in receipt of any beauty treatments/massages/etc.
while her youngun, Jo Jo, shrieked that nobody was touching her
because she didn't need or want it. Hopefully, they will have it all
worked out by the time any beauticians arrive. If not, I'm joining
Slim for a nap.
again, this time for skin grafting and hair transplant. We are not
sure whether the hair transplant will take, but her leg is almost
normal size and the wound is healing wonderfully!
healing progress of the wound. As you can see from the pictures, the
surgical site is healing very well. Our vet is pleased with how well
she is doing and is hopeful that the hair transplants will take.
the pictures, you can see the vet removing the staples that had been
put in to close the areas where skin/hair had been harvested.
Ann! Your caring, prayers & healing thoughts have helped her
tremendously! Please continue to send those healing messages to her
as she still has a long road of recovery ahead of her.
Sue Ann's wound. The supplies are extremely helpful in dressing her
wound, making her comfortable and keeping the cost of purchasing
these items way down!! Thank you so much.
have sent funds to assist with costs of Sue Ann's surgeries! Without
your monetary donations, it is doubtful we would have been able to
help Sue Ann properly. Although we still have a HUGE vet bill for
this last surgery/skin grafting, we are quite hopeful that the
upcoming TIER Used Tack Sale/Fundraiser will bring in funds to pay
the vet and to also help us with the feed/farrier bill for the TIER
residents. If you have tack that you would like to donate for this
fundraiser we would be most grateful. If you are looking for some
tack, blankets, saddles, bits, gift baskets, etc. please come join us
at Laramor Park in Mira Loma, CA on June 4, 2005!
