Braid or not..

Chumbucket.... The line I was using in the above photo was 8 lb Fireline. When I am fishing, I also use a Purglas 400-2 and an Diawa'Grandwave' 40, spooled with 15 kg Berkley 'Ironsilk'. I find this line is excellent to cast with a leader of .6o mm diameter joined with a double 'uni-knot'. The length I use is approx 2 x rod lengths. With a 'pendulum' type of cast I have modified to suit me, I generally get a 5 to 6 oz weight with bait out around the 120 + metres. This is generally good enough for the majority of fishing situations. Regards and good luck with your experimentation.. Chas
