
Posted by Andy Woodford on May 25, 2004, 10:20 am, in reply to "Dacron sleeve over Mono mainline for shock leader" It all works very much in principle the same way as the traditional wind on leaders where the leader is inserted into the hollow end of a piece of dacron that has had a loop spliced in the other for a loop to loop conection to your main line. Whilst this is a great set up for 100lb plus leaders it's a lot of work for anything in the 50lb to 60lb range where a good knot should be small enough to wind in and out of your runners with no problems at all.

This similar to the method that a lot of the Japanese use when fishing PE lines with mono leaders, They however tie an overhand knot in the section where the mono is interted into the hollow PE line.
