Posted by ChumBucket I made only a few casts as the on the eleventh or so the knot holding the shock leader on parted during the cast, and the 5oz weight headed down range. No one hurt. I was much concerned about the horrid sound the knot made on cast when going through the guides. When something sounds that...well...wrong... I am uncomfortable. So, I think I will reload the reel with 50lb Fireline. I now have the worst birdsnest of my life after the shock leader knot slipped (Uni to Uni) so it will be a pleasure to just cut it off the reel

I made a few casts today. I was happy to find that the reel seat position felt as natural as I thought it would. As the rod was being built it was the talk of all who entered the shop as most here have never seen the reel seat set so very low. Even the wrapper said on the day I picked it up that he was still skeptical.
