My wife was born on Stonecutters Island in 1968 whilst her farther (Barry Vernon) served in the Navy. She left when she was two whilst her farther served there a few more years.
I also lived in Hong Kong for a few years around handover but neither of us have ever been back since, so we're going to have a trip down memory lane with a week there in April.
I realise that we're not going to get on the island but I'm wondering if a trip past on a junk would let us see much or be worthwhile?
Also if anyone has photos from around that period or knew Barry and Rose please feel free to get in touch.
Thanks

Hi Lance,
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Your wife's stay on the Island was a bit before my time so don't have any info on him.
As you may have seen on this website, we have moved over to a Facebook Group Page, where you can post a message about her father and I am sure that someone will have some info about them from that era.
The Facebook group page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/503265126402240/ - the name being Stonecutters Island, JSTS.
I have also sent you an email invite to the group as well as a direct email.
