I lived on Stonecutters from 1972 leaving in October 1974. My dad was Don Harrison and was station chief, brother is Steve Harrison and younger sister Debbie Harrison. We lived on Wuthering Heights initially moving into Quarry House after a few months and had the Finley family (father Finley was island Captain) as neighbours. I have registered on flicker.com but would love to be able to access all the old photos from our era on Stonecutters. I have some of my parents photos I would love to put on too (they live in Spain now so will take a while to get hold of them).
We lived on Stonecutters from 1970 to 1972, my dad is Des Oakley and I think was Station Chief at that time. We also lived at Wuthering Heights and played on that old gun on top of the hill. My dad rigged up a zip wire between the trees up there which we had hours of fun on. We then moved to Quarry House and had the Finlays as neighbours. And we had a dog called Fluffy, a little chow who used to race around after the Land Rover when my dad would take us to the cinema round at South Shore. Happy Days!
Hi Lyndsay, apologies for the very long delay in replying. A lot has happended since I posted on here. Yes, we did have Fluff but he came with the house!! Soooo sad, had to leave him behind when we came back to the UK.
Hi Linda, my dad must have been your dadīs relief as we moved onto Stonecutters ī72 - ī74, lived on Wuthering Heights initially then into Quarry House with Fluff! Also had the Finlays as neighbours and had hours and hours of fun. Very happy days indeed. Went to Gun Club Barracks School and have found an old class photo online through Friends Reunited. Half of my family live in Spain now including my parents (Don & Margaret Harrison) & myself.
