I am looking for researchers who have information regarding the parentage of Harriet Matilda Cook, wife of Oren K. Stoddard. Harriet Matilda Cook was born on 3 December, 1801 in Elbridge, Onondaga County, New York. She married Oren K. Stoddard on 22 December, 1819 in Elbridge, Onondaga County, New York and died on 22 December, 1833 in Pontiac, Oakland Co., Michigan. I believe her death was due to childbirth because she gave birth to her youngest son shortly before her death. Oren Stoddard is the son of Sylvester Stoddard who was born 24 July 1774 in Sunderland, Franklin, Massachusetts. He is listed in the 1790 census as living in the Elbridge/Pompey area of Onondaga County, New York. His wife is Sally Van Duzee or Doozie who was born 15 May 1772 in Salisbury, Litchfield, Conneticut. Sylvester and Sally both died in Cohoctah(Oak Grove), Livingstone Co., Michigan. If there is anyone who has information regarding Harriet Matilda nee Cook Stoddard or are able to help me find information on their daughter-in-law and who her parents are along with documentation that would help support what is found, it would help solve an age-old mystery that has many of my family members puzzled for a long time. To date, there is a suggestion of parentage, but no concrete evidence in the documentation to back the current claim regarding who her parents are.
