The NewEnglandAncestors.org website (subscription)has two marriages for what appear to be brothers of Sarah Stoddard. One is 19 Apr 1881 for Joseph Stoddard, age 24, born Northampton, farmer, parents Peter and Elizabeth (or Lizzie?). The bride was Margaret Brehm?, age 24, born Germany, parents George and ?. The second marriage is for John Stoddard, age 23, laborer, born northampton, parents Peter and Lizzie. Bride Johanna Steele?, born Hatfield, age 23, parents Frank and Mary F?
Joseph, John, and Sarah are on a census with Peter and wife. The 1880 census shows Peter as Peter Stodder. Virtually all of the records I see show him born in Germany (Bavaria in one).
A census shows Elizabeth (Stoddard) Newton as having a father born in Germany as well.
