I honestly don't know if this will help, but I've recently been bitten by the same bug. My father, D.(Doris) Lee Stoddard was born 1913 near Corning, NY (Elkland, PA). He passed away 1974. He was raised by his step-father Ed Johnson and mother Elizabeth Stoddard/Johnson. He had a sister Eva Stoddard. His mother had a sister in/near Coudersport, PA named "Minnie" but I do not recall her maiden or married name.
I do not know anything about his biological father, but I have been told he too came through the Central NY Stoddards. I'd like to know more - please let me know if you learn anything.
