Looking for Grove Wright Stoddard b 1815 in VT. He is listed as G.W. in the 1850 census, as George W. in 1860 and as Grove W. in 1880, all in Eden, Erie Co., NY. Jonathan Stoddard married Mary Wright in Pittsfield, MA 4 Apr, 1777. They were listed in the 1790 census in Benson, VT. Jonathan died 1821 and Mary in 1837 both in Rupert, VT. they had 6 sons, William, Grove Wright, Jonathan, Eleazer, Josiah and Pomeroy. William married Abigail Cobb lived and died in Pawlet, VT Grove married Mary Cobb in Pawlet and they had a son Grove Wright b 1819 in Lenox, NY. Pomeroy married Maria Koogle and they had a son, Grove b 1833, prob in Ohio. Eleazer and Josiah were twins b 1787 in Benson. in 1814 they married in Moreau, NY, twins Emily and Almira Sill daus of Giles and Lucy (Gould) Sill. Josiah died in Pawlett in 1857 and Eleazer died in 1871 in Rupert.Their wive's brother, Gurdon Gould Sill was in Eden, Erie County, NY when his wife, Electa Hawley Sill died in 1856. It seems certain that that Grove was of this family. Can anyone tell me how?
