Christ asks them...."WHY DON'T YOU JUDGE WHAT IS RIGHT?" but his question is rhetorical, as he has been trying to tell them the whole time
that "YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS RIGHT!" Yeheshua is trying to bring them to truth, to know they don't know Right from wrong! They are like children who cannot discern their left hand from their right.
Now Peter is so moved by this experience, and later by the Holy Ghost that we see him draw reference to it in speaking of prophecies of Malachi Chapter 4 and former prophets when writing his Epistle:
King James Version: 2 Peter Chapter 3
2PETER 3: 1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2PETER 3: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
2PETER 3: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2PETER 3: 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2PETER 3: 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2PETER 3: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2PETER 3: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2PETER 3: 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2PETER 3: 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2PETER 3: 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
as we reflect on the words of PETER we should SO CONSIDER AGAIN:
LK 12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
LK 12:43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
LK 12: 44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
LK 12: 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
LK 12: 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
LK 12: 2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
LK 12:3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
LK 12:4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
LK 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
LK 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
LK 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
LK 12:8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
LK 12:9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
LK 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
LK 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
LK 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
LK 12:13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
LK 12:14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
LK 12: 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

Now having an awareness of Paul’s teachings on personal holiness, we can assume that his intent was not to pervert or corrupt others. However, the early Christians, were comprised mostly of Jews, even though the ministry was to, and did and would reach gentiles.
There was in place the established dogma, the doctrine of the land, the doctrine of generations, handed down by tradition to various groups with their own differences between them, nonetheless, the established hierarchy during the time of Yeheshua, the doctrine of the Pharisees, Scribes and Sadducees.
Christ Yeheshua himself challenged the established doctrines of his day; he was not well received for his teaching of the truth. The same doctrines came from somewhere! Obviously in their roots, at their origin they were applicable to the generations to whom they were given, and given in righteousness. By the time of Christ however, the same doctrines he challenged were so far off base from their original intent that they had to be addressed openly, challenged by the VERY Son of God, here on earth, GOD in the flesh!
