Hello. I thank you for sharing your stories. I left a message with the pediatrician today to ask for a lab referral for velocardiofacial syndrome. I was looking for causes of mental retardation, which the doc wants her to be assessed for--I had gone in about recurrent hearing loss and learning disabilities and my desire for diagnosis. My daughter is 6+ adopted from China with cleftlip and palate. She has glasses and was treated for ambylopia. She gets Speech and OT for gross motor delays. She clearly has some cognitive issues. Oh and and extra toe. Heart murmur but listed as benign. And a heart murmur and a distinct nose and almond shaped eyes but she is Asian :->! Anyone else ever suspect and bring it up to their doc first? Thanks--Kerry
