Years ago I worked as a vocational placement specialist with special needs people. I also worked with some great audiologists who helped my clients with communications needs. I would suggest contacting someone like this at a local rehabilitation faclity to give you current information as to types of treatments/equipment that might be helpful to your child. There is a great agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota called PACER center. They can assist you with questions like this and any other issues that come up with people who experience special needs.
