Posted by samuel perone --Previous Message-- I am doing a lot of research lately regarding the translocation 11;22. I am a carrier of the translocation 11:22 as well as my brothers and sisters and my mother. I hope you will have a healthy baby very soon, it is not impossible. We passed the translocation from generation to generation in my family and we never had a problem until my sister had to stop the pregnancy. Good luck to you Pam and let me know when you get pregnant. Samuel (from Switzerland)

Hi Pam,
I won't be able to answer your question but maybe my experience will give you more information.
My mother had 3 healthy kids before having a miscarriage then she had an other healthy child, my younger brother.
My sister has a 6 years old boy healthy and has a 3 years old daughter who is handicap but nothing related to the translocation. She tried to have an other baby after her daughter, she was pregnant last year but had to stop the pregnancy because of trisomy 22. (unbalanced translocation). She is trying to get pregnant again now.
I read a paper recently saying that the risks to have a problem with men carrier are higher.
But my two brothers have both 2 healthy kids.
I just found out that I was a carrier a month ago. I am gay and want to be a father for 14 years, I was suppose to inseminate with my friends but they don't want me as the donor anymore because of the risks to have a problem with the translocation.
I am deeply disappointed as well as upset.
