I do not know how close trisomy 18 and 22 are, but they said the same thing to my daughter. She was urged to get an abortion. She chose not to.
Today we have a beautiful 2 year old grandson who is the joy of everyone. He is a walking, talking contridiction that sometimes the doctors are wrong. I do not have the answers but I thank God every day we have Mason. He is a a bundle of joy and is learning something new every day. God Bless.
: I think that this is the hardest thing
: for a mother having to make that kind
: of a decision. But i believe that it
: is the best one. You have to think
: about their life, which could very
: well be so long. I am 20 years old and
: I lost my baby girl at my fourth
: month, she had trisonomy 22. When i
: found out what it was, i would have
: made the very same decision, not
: because i couldn't live with a baby
: like that, because i and any mother
: would love their child no matter what
: it looked like, but becuase of them.
: Because many people have abortions
: because they are afraid that they
: don;'t have enough money to support
: their child. i do no believe in that
: because God gave me 2 hands and 2 feet
: to work and carry my family. But in
: this case if God won't give my child
: all the abilities to carry their life
: to the fullest, i believe that it is
: my job as a mother, to give my baby a
: fair oportunity with life and not this
: one. It is terrible I suffered very
: very much, and i will never forget it.
: But in my heart i have her everyday
: with me. And i am happy she did not
: have to face so many dificulties that
: were coming to her. I wish you the
: best.. and I hope you will find the
: strenght in yourself to overcome this,
: and keep going.
