Posted by nancy I've had the same situation happen. I have had several miscarriages, two back to back miscarriages with Trisomy 22. I went to a genetic counselor and was told that this was not a usual case....but from my understanding, since your son is fine and healthy...this chromosome problem should not affect him. If it did, he wouldn't be here, because pregnancies with trisomy 22 will more than likely result in a miscarriage. Take care....things have a way of working themselves out. --Previous Message--

Laura,
: I have been having recurrent miscarriages
: and with my last miscarriage we decided
: to do some genetic testing. The
: results came back that there was an
: extra 22nd chromosome. I am meeting
: with a genetic counselor next week, but
: I was wondering if any of you could
: give me some insight as to what I
: should expect. I have a two yo son
: now, whom other than being small is
: perfectly healthy kid. I am so scared
: thay this maybe something that affects
: him and was wondering if I would have
: already noticed anything that was wrong
: or if maybe there are things that show
: later in life.
: Thanks!
