One is normal and our son has trisomy 22 mosaic. my wife is a balanced translocation of the 11/22 chromosomes. and our daughter has a 50/50 chance of also being a balanced translocation of the 11/22 chromosomes. our son is 11 years old now and walks and get into trouble and likes to pull his big sisters hair as often as possible. he is a very happy child. he can not talk but he can express his feelings and emotions quite well. he has almost no physical abnormalities other than low weight and slightly weak muscles. he is mentally disadvantaged and will probably never speak. we have tried potty training him but it is hard when he cant tell you he needs to go. i dont think he understands concepts like that but he does understand so much and when you look in his eyes you can see all kinds of mischevious thoughts going on in there.

i would recomend that you and your spouce be tested for the abnormality. it is very rare and we have gone to doctors that have never even heard of live births of children with this condition. most general doctors are clueless when it comes to this. they think its a fluke, and it may be on occasion, however there is a possibility that you or your spouce carry the abnormality.
