Our daughter is 22 years old. She was diagnosed with Trisomy 22 Mosaic when she was six months old. At that time we were told that she was one of the first childen diagnosed. We were given very little info at the time and still have very little knowledge of her disorder now. There just isn't much out there. Our daughter just got her GED. We home schooled her. So she wasn't just passed through the system and given a diploma, she earned it on her own. She does have some physical disablities but nothing that stops her from living a so called normal life. From what we have gathered, trisomy 22 mosaic is similar to Downs Syndrome in that children that have both of them can cover a large range from mild to severe.
Our best advise is never say to your child "you can't to that". Always "try" as long as it is safe. And encourage and grow any interests your child has. Don't compare your child to others. Let your child lead you and enjoy the journey.
