No, just because you have one child with Emanuel's syndrome it doesn't mean you can't have a heathly child. I am the carrier of the 11/22 balanced translocation & I have 3 healthy, normal children. But in my 4th child the translocation became unbalanced, causing his problems & eventually his death. The way it was explained to me is that I had a 25% chance of conceiveing an unbalanced child each pregnancy, but my body should abort. Now with my first 3 I took infertility drugs thus boosting the production of my good eggs, so no unbalanced eggs were available. So even if one of you is a carrier you can have healthy children. I'm sorry your child isn't.
