: Hi,
: I have just discovered your website
: after nearly a year of being left
: in" the dark"
: August 2007 I had my first pregnancy
: at 39 with clomid as I couldn't
: conceive due to endometriosis, and
: appontment with my obstre..and she
: scanned me discovering the heartbeat
: had stopped, it was there at wk 5.
: So I was booked in for a DNC that
: evening.
: Then woke to a nurse saying you can go
: home now and make an appontment to see
: doctor in 6 weeks, even though I
: hadn't seen the doctor. I didn't know
: what was happening and laying in a
: room with 3 other women, it was so
: depressing.
: I then found out the baby died due to
: Trisomy 22.
: Was told not to get pregnant for 6
: months. I was shattered for the next 6
: months.
:
: I have been reading your site and am
: even more concerned as I am 10.5 weeks
: pregnant now. I don't know what to
: feel, what if? The last pregnancy was
: 47xy+22
: We have never been told to have
: genetic screening, I feel somewhat
: rippped off, like walking into a room
: blind folded!

Hi! I wanted to let you know that I had a trisomy 22 (47XY+22) as well last month. I had a miscarriage/chemical pregnancy prior to that 4 months earlier. I am 37 and I have a healthy 4 year old daughter. My husband has refused to have any fertility or genetic counseling and feels that we just need to keep trying and have an amnio if we make it to the 2nd trimester. From everything that I have read and what my Dr. has told me, I only have a 1% chance of having it repeat. I have read that trisomy's are directly related to age unless you are a carrier. I would suggest having a chromosome analysis done to see if you are, if not, then I think you just keep trying. I wish you the best of luck.
