Posted by Kristi Gillespie I am a paramedic who just had my first trisomy 22 patient. She was 6 but weighed only 13 lbs. I was wondering where I can learn more about this. It is important for providers to know how to treat these special children. Not that I provide a lower level of care (please don't misinterpret), but I would like to know if these kids have different heart sounds, different lung sounds, anything basically that I would need to know to help them return to their own level of health. I noticed you said your child had surgeries. What kind? Is she on medications? My patient was not on any medications, which I found odd since she had heart problems. As I said, I would really like to learn more. I wish I could have helped her. Thank you.
