"For insects have a beauty that hurts," Maybe you could explain how our days are like smoke. It is a one liner from out of seemingly nowhere. "The vine is heavy again with the sweetest grapes." This had quite a cliche feel to it. You use a lot of metaphor but I don't see how it expresses the personal aspects to this poem. I generally liked the feel of it and I can read a lot into vague metaphors. Not everyone can. : )
Hi..I liked the way "A dead language in the blood " appeared to explain the first stanza.

Cities, built merely to fall,
drown in birds" I wondered about "drown in birds". It feels good but it may be obscure to someone isn't exploring slanted metaphor.
This was very nice, very descriptive!
