I am back at home, hamburg is behind me also. is there still snow
in Alaska? in Bagdad was no snow. only dust, deep as your feet are
high. the trip was ok, you know. i was invited by the newspaper al-mada
(the horizon) whose owner is a very important guy, the advisor of the
iraqi president. so I was covered by the security of the big boss, I
could use extra lanes on the highway reserved for his majesty. and my
name was already announced when I was still sitting in the airplane.
and as I was blocked in a traffic jam my guards took his pres badge and
his gun and wiped all the cars away. wow. darn good service. best
welcome since Alaska!
but there so many sad stories in that city. so many. only few you learn
from the newspapers. the children without parents for examples. raped
and sold to pimps. boys and girls. still there are many dead children
aside the streets, their parents didn't pay the money to get them back.
still plenty of explosions - four or five times a day - and still is
shooting in the night. nasty feeling when you do not know what
directions is being targeted.
