Maybe the word "mining" means good bye fishing seasons and hello empty fishracks. In fact, Tuluksak didn't see much fish this year. Does Tuluksak have clear waters? People who started off with this Mining is basically trying to ruin our traditional subsistance lifestyle, and hey, especially OUR people. If our fish get sick, we get sick (we rely on fish, right?). Miners know what will happen to our environment, and yet they are continuing to mine.
Plus, people overheard two elders on the VHF radio talking, talking about the moon and ellam qupellra. Both of the elders were wondering about the mysterious moon, weather conditions, and qupleq. Many people around here are seeing odd environmental episodes from the stars to the small village, and people. We have to work hard to educate our people, or show them the truth.
