Washing 2X a day with heated rain water, ivory soap and covering it with cotton (that grow on tundra) helped it to heal faster. Plus changing the bandage every time the child mentions it, even if the bandage was there for an hour (it's a waste, but for good cause). Guess what? No more gnats (I hope) and the rash went away!!!! I think blueberry akutaq, moose stew, seal soup, carrots, apples, homemade bread and more healthy foods helped heal the skin. Avoid fast foods and sweets!
Some kids in the village still have odd rashes, all different kinds, some fill up with pus. Sounds painful isn't it?
