It is us, humans are doing this. Think about it for a minute or two. What goes around comes around. What we throw away, we just throw it away without thinking about how or what will become of it later on in life. No different from the nuclear testing, they have found bugs that can adapt to the environment surrounding them, they became resistance to that chemical.
