We just got done with our 3-day gathering,I was just impressed with our elders that talked about the coming of starvation someday.One elder said when piitnaq was gonna happen 1st our earth didn't freeze for a long time 2nd dogs dying off 3rd heavy snow storms 4th starvation.I hope I'm putting it in a understandable way,one person said when people starve they would see a dog walking with a real yummy looking dried fish the people would run after it and grab the dried fish it would turn out to be a wood.The other thing is one family would stay in there homes with there kids-uncles mom dad and hunger would get so strong that they would start staring at there kids little fingers and some would cut off there little fingers and start cooking them for a long time just to get some thing in there stomach.It may sound cruel but I don't think our elders would lie about something like these.They told very good stories I'm very happy we had some like one was 94-yrs old and most of them were in there late 70's.I hope I made this short story understandable.Piurci!
