Radiation is invisible, odorless and tasteless. You can not detect it with normal human senses. We are exposed to radiation every day, from things like sunlight, radio waves (including cell phones and cordless phones), microwaves, naturally occurring radioactive minerals and even the computer screen that you look at. Not all radiation is harmful, it is the exposure level to it that matters. Looking for fallout from Japan is a waste of time, better off trying to reduce the levels of everyday exposure if you are worried about radiation sickness or cancer.
