It's so dark where my AC's thermostat is that I had to open the bathroom door to let the little light from the bathroom's one dim bulb shine out into the hall. See, the maintenance dude did not bring a flashlight. I had previously shut the bathroom door to discourage him from going in there. He promptly went in there, and managed to touch my one and only clean white hand towel, which I have no good way to launder, as well as tracking something brownish on the white bath towel I kept on the floor to catch drips when I stepped out of the shower. So now I have to go get new towels. More money down the drain. Plain white towels are hard to get here, too: everybody wants dyed ones. And I was dead right all along: the problem is with the compressor, which is outside on the roof. It just needs more freon or something. There never was any need for him or anyone to come inside. It will be tomorrow at the very soonest before the regular air conditioner guys even come. If past experience is any guide, they'll show up withbnout half of what they need to do the job, and they'll have to go get this and order that. It's supposed to be hot and humid. We don't get much spring here anymore, not like when I was little forty-odd years ago. Winter lingers well into April, then it goes right from chilly winter to sweltering summer overnight. But, yeah, of course there are other things I can do online than hang out on the PPMB. There are a couple of other sites I used to frequent and post on. There's a lot of news to keep up with. YouTube videos to download and eventually watch/listen to. Cross --Previous Message--

I've never ben able to read much here since I've lived here. It's dark in here. It makes those apartments in _Blue Velvet_ and even _Ereaserhead_ look cheerful.
