One time I had to just turn it off with the power button. When I tried to turn it back on, and satrted waiting through the annoying "Because ti was not shut down properly, there may be errros. Now Checking for errors" thingamajig, it froze up and said it had found errors it couldn't fix -- some kind of "long file-something-or-other." WTF? It said I'd have to run Scan Disk. The cursor was not responding at all to my mouse, and I couldn't clear the screen without restarting again. The I ran Scan Disk and it said it had found errors and fixed tyhem all. Okay, that sounded good. But all was still not well. One strange thing I noticed different was that when I Googled any expressions or partial quotes as search terms, "Cache" no longer apperaed in the listings. WTF? That makes it a lot harder to run down partial quotes. Aaand I started seeing this little "Restore Defaults" thing on my homepage? Huh? Finally, today, I did click on that, to see what would happen, especially if it would restore the "cache" feature in Google. It didn't. I think feel another big, *expensive* computer breakdown coming on. First my car. Then my air conditioner. Then the PPMB. Now my computer too. And these effed-up dreams I keep having. It feels like 2000 again, when it seemed like the bottom was falling out of everything, and that everyone and everything I knew or that matered to me was dying.
