yes, this sucks. I think I will just put up with hauling water until it really gets warm out, then cut it all out, reroute it all up inside the house except the main cold water feed coming from the ground, and that will be superinsulated and perhaps with heat tape I can plug in when needed.
I am not doing wet nasty crawling around in the frozen mud plumbing at this time...
I have some barrels and buckets and jugs, etc. Some I will fill from a city water tap on the farm, some barrels will get pond water for flushing, the dogs and cats and chickens, etc.
Firewood wise and heating doing just fine, I am several years ahead and have multiple cords waiting on either getting split or hauling back from where they have been cut, then splitting and stacking. Not worried about that.
No water, like I always have hammered home, is the big kahuna. It's a hassle but I can deal with it, having the alternative supplies not far away.
