The front end was really getting noisy and he ended up changing the left hub bearing. The right one is starting to go so it will be a future expense.
I can drive a stick but we had an '89 ranger with an extended cab for years and it was a good vehicle, but too cramped for me, especially when hauling kids around. I'm really spoiled by the room in the minivan. And I really like front wheel drive, especially in snowy, icy weather.
Two mechanics have told me that this van model has a good engine and transmission. It's this starting issue that has been a pain off and on over the years. Still, I have to keep it going until I can save up enough money to buy something else.
