Hubby does not like celery - fresh or cooked. He can't stand the cruch/taste of fresh, nor what he calls the slimmy taste of it cooked. However, he has no problem if I use celery seed or finely chop the leaves, to add flavor to a recipe. One way I found around that is to finely grate the fresh stalks whenever celery is called for. I rarely buy celery cause most of it rots way before I ever get to using it up.
I would love to give this a try!! I'm wondering though - can just one stalk be cut off at a time - like spinach, chard, or rubarb? Then, when it's down to the "heart" - then harvest the whole base and replant?
