In the meantime, someone called in to Coast to Coast the other night with this, which is most likely baloney, but who knows:

"Early this morning on Coast to Coast AM, a man called in and said that a friend of his works on the drilling in the area of these Arkansas quakes.
He said that the other day, they sent the drill bit down to something like 1,500 feet, and sensed something was wrong, and when they brought it back up, the drill bit was gone. So then they sent another one down, again said something was wrong, and brought it back up, and not only was the drill bit gone again, but he said there was molten lava on the drill!
So, I'm just telling you what I heard and really don't know what to think about this.
Also, I sent an email in January to the CERI seismology department and got a reply a couple of days ago. The gentleman that replied said that they don't know what's causing the quakes, although he did mention the natural gas drilling and water injection into the wells. He said they don't know what fault it is on, and that it is not the New Madrid Seismic Zone. He said the epicenters of the New Madrid 1811/1812 quakes were about 100 to 150 miles away from this swarm. He also said that the area near Enola, Ark. has a history of swarms."
Normally, the lost and found pet ads go up here when the New Madrid zone is about to move a bit, but they haven't lately. It says these quakes are not connected to New Madrid, so maybe it does have to do with the gas drilling.
Even still, all the weird stuff happening is making me uneasy.
