Re: So, how'd it go, wet cold and icy guys?
only about 14" snowfall here 25 miles NW of Chicago, but high winds making tall drifts over trucks and cars. Electrical power had me worried, was going out for just a half second or so every 20 minutes, but then back to steady before midnight, wonder what that was about. Wonder what that was about? Brutal cold forecast tonight, national weather service says 13 below, weather.com says five below. Further south 35 miles, where other relatives are, 20" snow with seven foot drifts up the sides of houses and other tall things. They were getting something extra from a thing we didn't get here this time, weird lake effect snow storms with thunder (!) from north. The normal weather here almost always comes from southwest, and myself I haven't seen lightning and thunder in a snowstorm since a kid. Relatives in middle of Iowa, half hour drive west of Des Moines, no big deal just seven inches snow. Relatives in Pensacola Florida just had thunderstorms, no problems.
