Your idea would be interesting and probably nice, but our economic policy is to kill off wealth production jobs for short term gains by a few people (the corporate raider business model applied to a big nation), then have politicians get elected based on promises they will create more new jobs. Uhh, we HAD the jobs, they gave them away for pennies on the yuan/renminbi.
The worse it gets, the more suckers they can get to vote for them or their party by promising more jobs, and they can blame previous job loss on "those other people", the conservolibs! It is all "their" fault!
I'm more in favor of concluding the US as a nation made sense under 100 million people,(or so) but now we are large enough that it should be several smaller nations or the individual states, with a VERY loose and strictly limited alliance,MAYBE, and even that is questionable to my way of thinking if it could even work. I think it is beyond reasonable question now that what we have even "works" or is even "fixable", the stuff that clearly doesn't work.
I'm not for secession, I am for "national dissolution", a 50 state no fault amicable divorce. Perfectly willing to "take my chances" as a citizen of the nation of Georgia, for instance, or perhaps another southern states alliance, or go elsewhere to maybe some other state/area/coalition that had a more basic concept of limited government, balanced budgets, and born with carved in stone freedoms, and that a top national priority was reverse globalism,. to be as independent as possible FIRST before fooling around with foreign trade and entanglements. I am *sick* of freeking globalism.. I REALLY want a legal divorce from wallstreet/NYC and washington DC in particular, that axis of maximum profits and power is clearly em-beggaring the rest of the nation and also impacting our domestic tranquility and security. It is a "clear and present danger". It is maintained SOLELY to keep up the economic and political dominance of those two geographical relatively tiny areas, and to keep the rest of this vast nation in a sort of quasi colonial status..
We are all too different in what we need. For instance, I have nothing in common with people who live in new york city, nor do I want MY economy tied so closely with THEIR ideas on economy, and they have nothing in common with people living in the breadbasket ag states, who have nothing in common with hawaii, who have nothing in common with texas, and so on.
It just doesn't make any sense any longer to keep pretending we do, or that any single one size fits all solution is even theoretically possible for this or that issue,.what maybe could work over there, is not going to work here, etc, so all this talk of compromise on this or that issue is actually harmful and counterproductive.
And the sooner the better, the USA as we have it now is "going down the tubes" and fast. We won't be dominant globally or even very functional or even *relevant* on the world stage within one generation now (20 years tops) at this rate of corruption and collapse combined with trying to maintain anything like an efficient government with so many differences across such a vast chunk of real estate and with so many different types of peoples.
The ONLY way big empires stay together with such differences-based on all historical data to date, including the last one, the soviet union- is overwhelming centralized nasty violent physical force, and that has been the past historical track record, and I doubt many rational people want to see that here. And if you look with unjaundiced eyes, the USA fed government has clearly headed that direction, so let us just admit reality that the sooner we all agree to disagree and go our separate ways it is best for all.
The good part is, we don't have to squabble over who gets the custody of the kids.
I would rather do it amicably than the traditional way of violent revolution. And it is the only legal and practical way we have left to solve all of our various problems, by being free to concentrate on what problems exist more locally, and not have to worry about how this may or may not impact some dudes 2000 miles away, that we have nothing in common with besides a somewhat similar sounding language, and that is only at this time, that is changing fast as we speak as well.
