Notice that his number one concern over china is their lack of fresh water, something I have said repeatedly over the years.(both for china and for survivalists' top priority)
My analysis from some time ago looking at the chinese development timeline put them in aggressive expansion mode-near warfare- before around 2014 or so.
This is why we have been seeing a huge buildup in their force projection styled military, that has consistently been lowballed in the official US figures, then they act "surprised" the next time they look at it. Nuts, it's been transparent, plus a financial unit of choice goes ten times further there than here, so 100 billion spent there on the military is the same as a trillion bucks here.
They are going all out, drones, jets, building carriers now, sneaky subs, all of the above, plus they can Q-ship THOUSANDS of their merchant marine fleet with special military containers at one minutes notice I bet, giving them by far the worlds largest navy in an emergency or for any sneaky plans they might have. I mean, how hard would it be to make a normal shipping container contain a surface to air/surface missile system? Or even a torpedo launch system? Open the door, whoosh!
Not hard at all.
They need energy, raw materials and water to avoid internal meltdown and fatcats losing their jobs and heads, so, to avoid that, the only way possible is to both import resources, as much as they can of "all of the above", and ALSO export huge quantities of their population, tens of millions of them, especially young males because their one child policy combined with baby girlacide with abortions, etc have left them top heavy with young males, which could also cause internal social unrest, so better ship them out someplace, let them find babes in the populations elsewhere however they can manage..and young dudes can usually manage that just swell....
Young males are also their soldier potential. So they will be exporting soldiers and getting them in place in all the resource critical and R&D critical areas of the planet camouflaged as workers/students/businessmen, etc, all over the dang place. And they will get away with it. And HAVE been getting away with it, I'd bet a year's pay on that.
My best guess is they will be flooding into Africa, south America and Canada pretty soon now, more so than what they have been doing, and increasingly being competitive for middle eastern oil, especially from iran, but all of them really.
