I think they will for the most part say or do anything to make people fall for the lies. Only when they are caught with their hands in the cookie jar will they apologize and find a scapegoat or two to sacrifice.
The tobacco companies have been doing the same thing for years also....sponsoring "studies" that make their product favorable, using the media to promote their drug(s), etc. Despite mounting evidence against them and giant pharma they continue trying to brainwash the masses.
They never give up. Like spammers, if they can't find one way to implement the brainwashing, they will find another, even if it means provoking mass hysteria in the form of a potential epidemic.
