I think I'd rather start with a junker lightweight motorcycle or moped frame than a bicycle though, for that kind of money and adding all that weight to the hubs and frame. You could get by with cheaper batteries then, spend the loot on better motors, and make it two wheel drive! I liked that 1,000 watt hub motor idea, just not for a thousand bucks. I'd want two of those, front and rear, balanced dual controls, on a moped or 90 cc dirt bike frame and wheels. Now I *bet* if you really looked harder, seeing as how every bit of that stuff all comes from china anyway, you could buy it all direct at half price or something like that, just shop for "samples".
