I think basically, there are two distinct kinds of food storage. 1 - BO or traveling, and 2 - in place. Pemmican is excellent for BO/travel, but for long term storage, I'm thinking just plain dried meat is best for the home storage and home cooking. In it's basic state, it can be later used in many different recipes, especially if processed in pieces rather than powder. At least that's what I'm thinking. Sure would beat the pants off of VTP. I try to avoid soy products like the plague!
