Very interesting Vlad. Gets me to wondering....
What if one dried the ground beef, using the method you describe, pre-crumbling it before putting on the drying trays. Then, once completely dried, vacuum packing it with a food saver in bags, canning jars, or in mylar bags. Store bough beef jerkys have how long of a shelf life? This dried beef should do at least as well. To use, just reconstitute it.
