And thanks for your input as well! You keep up with this way more than I do, perhaps you could give the folks here a little synopsis of bike computers and what might be some of the better deals out there, price versus features and reliability, etc. And also FLATS.
What are current state of the art flat avoidance techniques and products? I remember trying everything years ago and they all left something to be desired, thicker tubes, thin plastic strips that went between tube and tire, more or less solid rubber tubes, all that stuff, and all had various things against them. Is state of the art any better today than the 70s-80s? I had a set of high pressure sewups back then for a lightweight Puch (my lightest and most expensive bike then), they stayed hung on the wall almost all the time, just too delicate for day to day use. Wicked fun to ride with though. Fast..just I liked off roading more so never used it much and it was given to my Gf at the time anyway. That was a near top of the line ride back then, came in at around 20 lbs, so you can see how dated that is. Chrome/moly, fully lugged, silver soldered IIRC. Fiber bikes weren't out yet and most were still rolled steel tubing.
