looks like the big fusion experiment, ITER, is already going to have twice the construction costs places and even more hurdles to fusion conditions than originally thought.

Meanwhile the big fusion reactor in the sky keeps on burning 24x7. The U.S.A. could actually afford to spend a trillion dollars and make hundreds of square miles of solar arrays in the desert complete with storage, but instead we do stupid wasteful things with our trillions.
