Obama administration and DOE have decided to go ahead with the near-dead FutureGen project in Mattoon, Illinois; a 275MW coal plant that will be used to test hydrogen and electricity production while sequestering the carbon dioxide 2.4 kilometers (about 8,000 feet) underground in saline water held in rock formations.

Somehow the DOE got the project stalled when the chosen site *wasn't* to be in Texas. hmmm....
