Supposedly the jet stream is extending south a lot further than normal this year, leading to more intense storms and a lot of downright colder weather in el norte.
As to my junior logger action, I ran four tanks of two stroke mix today, two in the smaller husky 137 doing all the smaller branches, then two more in the model 55 rancher,. which saw will wear out a neogeezer little skinny hippie boy in this heat and humidity... heh. I am at the point now on doing the base of the larger branches where the saw bar-18 inch- doesn't even make it across the limb, have to cut from both sides, then roll the chunk over to finalize the cuts. I am guessing, around 6 feet of branch at the thick end is between a quarter and a half a ton. Lotta heavy wood. I also went exploring and found another hugemongous tree down out on a ditch that bisects one of the pastures. Just blown over flat, roots in the air. Now this tree is totally healthy, just blown over. Have to cut that one up later...
Oh, pretty funny and more evidence of it being a downdraft event, the guy across the street from us hasn't hayed yet, his pastures look like crop circles now, just smashed flat in like circular patterns kinda sorta. Didn't even notice that yesterday. The whole event looks to only run about half a mile here, then it peters out, so we got nailed personal like. Might have been a small little twister hit, who knows. Sure did get loud and dark for a few there....
