Put your stuff in an interior wall, as in behind the drywall, or the plumbing access area for the the tub and shower, etc. Another one is if you have a basement or crawl space, you can make a dummy grey or blackwater pipe that looks like it comes from some place up in the house and goes outside, etc.., stash the stuff inside of it. The burglars are not going to crawl under the house to snag used pvc pipe...copper, but not pvc..nor are they likely to just start tearing apart the walls. A safe is a big steal me sign.** A similar cache is the big pvc pipe, with a top screw cap, buried vertically someplace. Then you only need to dig to the top and get your stuff back out. Of course add dessicant and use dry lube on the piece.
**it's a good distraction though, let them steal an old used safe full of scrap metal and bricks...or cracked eggs...well aged...
