Oh, yeah, I'm no fan of the Fed, and completely agree that this isn't right/wrong, it's just about eliminating competition.
I was just talking with somebody the other day, talking about how, with every single commodity on this earth, when supply increases and demand stays constant, the price will fall.
Except for the US Dollar. Somehow, we magically think that our currency is the one and only commodity that's exempt from that rule. It IS at least partially exempt, but that's because of its role as reserve currency. And that, in turn, is because of arrangements with OPEC, in my opionion.
