I like to read about such things. My view on them is more conservative though.
Man's IQ is not rising over time, the ancient civil engineers might well have been brainier than us and did amazing feats but none I've ever seen require aliens from space. The 1500 ton granite Thunder Stone in St. Petersburg was moved over land and water without even steam power in the 18th century, big bronze ball bearings and other neat tricks used.
